Issues getting DS-5 CE running on 64bit Linux

I downloaded the 64 bit CE and got the file 'DS5-all-in-one-community-eddition-linux-64bit.tgz'

However it's not the 64bit version when extracted it contains 'install_x86_32.sh'  No super big issue, I just install the ia32 libs and run the dependency script for 32bit.

Get it all running, install the license... oh wait.. the license is only good for streamline and debugger? you cant compile? is that correct? I even tried removing the license, restarting the IDE and reinstalling it and still it only licenses the streamline and debugger I cannot compile. Is that normal?

  • Hi,

If you look at the table here: http://ds.arm.com/ds-5/compare-ds-5-editions/ which compares the different versions of DS-5, it will give an overview of what is included.

In general, DS-5 Community Edition is intended to complement Android SDK with a set of tools which are useful for developers wanting to use native code written in C/C++ in their apps.

The ARM Compiler is not included in the Community Edition, but it does include the Linaro GCC compiler, so you are able to compile.

If you are interested in the full feature set of DS-5, you can license it for a 30-day trial using Help > ARM License Manager > Add License. This will give you access to the ARM Compiler, full version of Streamline and simulation models for 30-days.

I'll look into the problem with the 64-bit download.

    Thanks,

    Joe

  • We've checked the 64-bit download - it should be fine.
