rvds4.1 license


we want to evaluate rvct4.1, I download the rvds4.1 from the arm web site, and install it on ubuntu , when I execute 'armcc --vsn', it display error:

ARM C/C++ Compiler, 4.1 [Build 713]

Error: C9932E: Cannot obtain license for Compiler (feature compiler) with license version >= 4.1201104

Invalid parameter.

Feature:       compiler

Context:      

License path:  /usr/local/flexlm/licenses/license.dat:

FLEXnet Licensing error:-42,298

For further information, refer to the FLEXnet Licensing documentation,

how can I get a free trial license,and how can I do?

  • RVDS was discontinued a number of years ago, and is no longer actively sold.  That is why the ARM website does not offer evaluation/trial licenses for it.  RVDS was replaced by DS-5, which you can get a trial license for.

    If you really need RVDS you will need to contact ARM's support team and request that they manually issue a license.  You can raise a support ticket by logging into https://silver.arm.com/ - but be prepared for them to ask you why you want to use a discontinued product.
