I tried installing the ReST Editor plug-in from the Eclipse Marketplace in DS-5, but I get the following error:
An error occurred while collecting items to be installedsession context was:(profile=SDKProfile, phase=org.eclipse.equinox.internal.p2.engine.phases.Collect, operand=, action=).Unable to read repository at resteditor.sourceforge.net/.../ReSTEditor_1.0.5.201110101040.jar.sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested targetUnable to read repository at resteditor.sourceforge.net/.../org.psem2m.eclipse.rest.editor_1.0.5.201110101040.jar.sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target
This looks like the typical Eclipse "can't find the cert store" issue.
My configuration is:DS-5 v5.28.1 ultimate in a Ubuntu 16.04 LTS guest os (VirtualBox running on OSX)
I don't have this problem in my VM with Eclipse Oxygen.3.
Anyone know how to fix this?
Regards, Ted.
Hi Ted,
OK I can reproduce your issue as well using DS-5 v5.28.1, though I could install a FORTRAN editor plug-in just fine, so it looks like something is particular to this plug-in.
I shall look into it and speak to those internally who might be able to assist.
Please bear with me.
Regards,
Stuart
Hi Stuart -
Thanks for confirming that you can reproduce my issue.
As workaround, I disabled the version of Java that is coupled with DS-5 and installed the latest version. The plug-in will download/install now but unclear if there are any side-effects.
Will monitor this thread for a real fix.
Sorry about the delay in getting back to you on this. What you did (to change the JVM I assume) might be a work-around but the side-effects of whether everything relevant in DS-5 that you are going to use will still work is unknown.
Or in other words, not everything might, but I am afraid we don't know.
Have you suffered any issues yet ?
