Hi all
Are there any 8051 JTAG based boards ?
I want to avoid the expensive ICEs and programmers .
Thanks Elico
One reason for actually wanting/needing JTAG would be if the factory is expected to interact with this chip and other chips using existing JTAG equipment
it is not, the OP stated in his first post: "I want to avoid the expensive ICEs and programmers"
Erik
Yes, but that sentence doesn't say that "expensive ICEs and programmers" are the only single reason.
Having a chip with JTAG support means that you can decide to save an expensive programmer at the factory too, you know ;)
save an expensive programmer
everything is relative, for some $35 is expensive, for others not.
But are that $35 thingy good for factory testing and factory production programming?
I have used them for both with no problem. The only 'issue' is that the load is a bit slower than the load of other chips in a parrallel programme. Anyhow, when production ramped up, we ordered them pre-programmed.
