How to measure AC voltage with without converting to DC

Hi friends,

I need AC voltage (0v to 450V) measurement circuit with C.

I need such types of circuits that directly measures ac voltage without converting it to dc.

I also requires code in c.

please post it..

    It is intended to be taken literally, when discussing high-voltage designs, high-power lasers, control of heavy machinery etc where human safety is at stake.

    In most situations, a firmware or hardware error may kill a microcontroller or a couple of transistors, or blow a fuse in the PSU, so we are talking about relatively small amounts of money at stake. But some subjects requires that the developer do read up and collect the required knowledge _before_ starting out with the project.
