FT2232 JTAG + Keil RVMDK

Note: This was originally posted on 1st January 2010 at http://forums.arm.com

I am planning on building board for the LM3S811 controller with a FT2232 based USB to JTAG interface. I dont have any experience with RVMDK and hence needed to know if this will work with RVMDK. Basically I need to understand how the RVMDK communicates with any target board. Any help here is deeply appreciated.
