Unable to untick startup file in Project->Manage->Runtime Environment

error: L6235E: More than one section matches selector - cannot all be FIRST/LAST.

Building a project created from the MDK and then passed to STMicroelectronics CubeMX. This created 2 startup files. Now I am getting error L6235E. I also have several duplicate file Warnings associated with the HAL:

...

...

...\MyTestDefiniativeFromMx2Mdk.axf: Warning: L6304W: Duplicate input file mytestdefiniativefrommx2mdk\stm32g4xx_hal_msp_1.o ignored.
...\MyTestDefiniativeFromMx2Mdk.axf: Warning: L6304W: Duplicate input file mytestdefiniativefrommx2mdk\system_stm32g4xx_1.o ignored.
MyTestDefiniativeFromMx2Mdk\MyTestDefiniativeFromMx2Mdk.sct(7): error: L6235E: More than one section matches selector - cannot all be FIRST/LAST.

I have navigated to the "Runtime Environment" and in the "Device" I have the SMT32Cube HAL ticked as well as the "Startup", but it is greyed out and am unable to  untick it!

Do I have to remove the HAL from ST?

Please advise
