New online training course – Arm Cortex processor behaviors

1 minute read time.

We are very pleased to announce a new online training topic – Arm Cortex processor behaviors.

About the course

This course builds on our series of topics that introduce the A, R, and M profiles of the Arm architecture and is targeted primarily at hardware engineers, although will also benefit software and implementation engineers too. The topic explains how A, R, and M profile processors conform to the rules of the Arm architecture but looks at how, in practice, they perform internal optimizations to improve efficiency and performance. Learning about the concepts and expressions of these optimizations helps you understand how the processor behaves under certain conditions.

Watch a short preview of the course below:

The topic begins by introducing the concept of Simple Sequential Execution and how the Arm architecture states that the rules of this model must be adhered to in processor design. The topic then looks at the various ways that Cortex processors work within these rules and develop key characteristics that optimize performance. These are:

  • Instruction fetching optimizations
  • Data processing optimizations
  • Data memory access optimizations

Take control of your learning

Our online training provides a structure of byte-sized video and articles that you can delve into in your own time. You can check your knowledge and understanding with a test. Why not try taking it before you start viewing the content and again at the end to see how you improve?

Access online training

Access to Cortex processor behaviors costs $99 for three months' access.
