1 minute read time.

The new Developer Economics survey Q4 2018 is now open for all developers around the world who want check out how well they know popular languages, tools, platforms and frameworks.

Every year, more than 40,000 developers from 160+ countries around the world participate in this survey. Feeling particularly fond of a specific technology or absolutely loathe a certain framework? Have your say! This is also a chance for all developers to tell the industry what the real opportunities and challenges are and where to improve in 2019.

Take the Survey

Great Prizes

You may win one of cool prizes worth the total of $12,000: Samsung S9 Plus, Oculus Rift + Touch Virtual Reality System, Filco Ninja Majestouch-2 Tenkeyless NKR Tactile Action Keyboard, developer licenses, Udemy vouchers and more!

All participants will also get an access to Developer Benchmarks, showing the top global trends and a copy of the “State of the Developer Nation 16th Edition” report with the key findings from this survey (coming up in Q1 2019). For those who aren’t here just for the prizes and data, there’s an AI-themed surprise at the end of the survey.

Who is it for?

The survey is open to all developers involved in mobile, desktop, IoT, AR/VR, machine learning and data science, web, backend/cloud, and game development. It’s not just for professionals - hobbyists and students should take part too. The survey is available in English, Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Russian, Japanese, and Korean, so pick the language that suits you.

Expect questions that ask your opinions and experiences with popular development tools, platforms, and technologies, as well as developer skills, monetisation, training, career development - and much more. What sort of developer skills are the most important? What programming languages, tools or platforms are you using in your projects? What kind of resources are the most valuable when you want to learn something new?
