In February 2025, I had the honor of organizing and conducting a workshop titled large language models (LLM) in action: Applications and evolution, in collaboration with the Arm Developer Program.

This workshop took place in India and brought together over 200 participants from diverse backgrounds. Supported by the Arm Developer Program, the attendees actively engaged in learning about LLMs and their real-world applications.

Workshop overview

The AI Journey and large language models (LLM) in Action workshop was designed to provide an in-depth understanding of LLMs, focusing on their practical applications, deployment techniques, and industry impact.

Evolution of AI

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has evolved significantly, progressing through:

  • Rule-based AI systems
  • Machine Learning (ML)
  • Deep Learning (DL)
  • Generative AI (GenAI)

Each stage has enhanced AI’s autonomy, intelligence, and creativity, transforming industries and reshaping human interactions with technology.

Key discussion points

The workshop covered various aspects of Large Language Models (LLMs), highlighting their growing importance today.

Importance of LLMs:

  • Transforming industries with AI-driven automation
  • Enhancing human-computer interaction

Career opportunities in LLMs:

  • AI Research Scientist
  • Machine Learning Engineer
  • Prompt Engineer
  • AI Ethics Consultant

Skills required:

  • Deep Learning
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Data Engineering
  • Cloud Computing

Secure AI solutions ensures privacy and compliance in AI deployment.

  • Personalized AI: Fine-tuned models tailored for individuals and enterprises
  • Improved Reasoning & AGI: Enhanced logical reasoning, memory, and adaptability

Spotlight on KleidiAI

With the rise of AI workloads on Arm processors, developers need optimized, high-performance libraries.

At the workshop, I introduced KleidiAI, a set of optimized micro-kernels for deep learning workloads on Arm CPUs. KleidiAI provides:

  • Improved inference speed
  • Reduced power consumption
  • Seamless integration with AI frameworks

These features make KleidiAI a valuable tool for AI at the edge, in mobile environments, and cloud applications.
