UVision Find in Files

Whenever I use the UVision function "Find in Files" it takes 3-4 seconds for the dialog box to appear on the screen. Is there any way to speed this up?

I took a giant project and cut it down to a base functionality for another 8051 project. I know that there are many unused variables as a result. Is there a command / option to highlight unused variables...
