I'm reading through the NEON Programmer's guide and found a few places where the term VPF and VPF unit are used, and I can't figure out what it means, is it just a typo for VFP? [page 17 of the pdf has two of the 7 occurrences in the doc]
VPF stood for Vector Floating Point, which was the name of the floating spec pre-ARMv8. For v5/v6/v7 processors it's common to see the floating point hardware referred to as "the VFP" or "the VFP unit". More recently, you tend to see FPU instead.
