I am writing a debug dll for my hardware. I want to automatically download the source to my target hardware automatically when I start a debug session. I searched the knowledge base, and it suggest that the "Update Target before Debugging" option should be set. It also says this works for UV2 as well as uv3. I am using UV2 (C51 demo). What am I missing, or is this option not available in the demo ?
"download the source to my target hardware" Do you really mean Source??!
Do you really have brain? Or are you one of those anal dorks that feels compelled to comment on typos? Get a life .....
I'm not sure but maybe this is what you want. Try the project\options for target then pick the debug tab, on the right side for the debugger check the "load application at start up" box.
"Or are you one of those anal dorks that feels compelled to comment on typos?" What typo would that be? "Get a life ....." Learn to read.
Thank you William, that is exactly what I needed. As for you, Stefan, you also are in need of a life. Of course I know the 'source' doesn't get D/L. Whilst not strictly a typographical error, it was however a minor honest mistake. My point is that both you and (Mr?) Neil knew exactly what I meant, and I therefore repeat my claim that you are a pair of pedantic, anal twits. William clearly has a life, and I wish him all success with it.
"Of course I know the 'source' doesn't get D/L. Whilst not strictly a typographical error, it was however a minor honest mistake. My point is that both you and (Mr?) Neil knew exactly what I meant" You were asked a straightforward question to establish whether (a) you had written the wrong thing or (b) were clueless. We are not mind-readers, and you have no posting history as far as I am aware which might have indicated whether (a) or (b) was the case. "and I therefore repeat my claim that you are a pair of pedantic, anal twits." Mr. Neil spends a considerable amount of time offering *free* help to people on this forum. All you have succeeded in doing by posting this sort of nonsense is to make yourself look ridiculous to the regular contributors.
"You were asked a straightforward question to establish whether (a) you had written the wrong thing or (b) were clueless." Or even, possibly, (c) you had some unusual requirement and really did want to download the source!
Clueless? I don't think so.... I'm writing a debug DLL !! (as stated) Who cares if I wanted to download the source anyway? That has NOTHING to do with my original question. My question was about where a particular option was located. It was a clear and concise posting, written with respect. If you don't know the answer to the exact question, then better to just shut up.
"Clueless? I don't think so.... I'm writing a debug DLL !!" Gosh, we are awed by your massive intellect. "If you don't know the answer to the exact question, then better to just shut up." Are you going to stamp your little feet if we don't?
