IF you are writing your own PC software that, of course, adds another possibility: 4. Your PC software is not working. You have far too many unknowns! Start by checking your code in the Simulator. Then run it in your target, but use Hypoterminal or similar on the PC. Once this is all working, try it with your own PC app.
