Sending an SOS to anyone out there.
I am new to OpenGL ES 3.0 for Windows.
I have already installed Visual Studio 2013, cMake and Mali.
My issue:
EGL cannot be initialized.
This is the error I get:
eglGetError<> =12289 at line 413 of cube.cpp
I installed Mali v2.1.1
My built desktop runs on W7.
VGA Info:
Integrated AMD Radeon HD 8000/7000 Series Graphics in the A-Series APU
- Multi-VGA output support:HDMI.DVI/RGB port
Can anyone help?

Hello Jacek,
I installed the mali-cube with the exec. file.
The latest drivers were installed from the motherboard's CD and their website.
I have never run any OpenGL programs on this new machine.
I am totally new at this. Just started with really basic C++ studies
and it led me to this.
It looks like from the information you have provided I'd have to installed
NVIDIA drivers???
I have visited their website in the driver's section, but have no idea
where to start with.
Lester,
First of all let me make sure that I understand correctly what has happened:
you have installed Mali OpenGL ES 3.1 Emulator v2.1.1 on your machine with AMD Radeon HD 8000/7000 graphics card running Windows 7, run mali-cube.exe and got the EGL cannot be initialized error, right?
Which file have you used to install Mali OpenGL ES 3.1 Emulator v2.1.1?Was it .exe installer or .zip archive?
The graphics card seems to support OpenGL 4.4, so it should be enough to successfully run mali-cube.exe.
Could you please confirm that you have the latest AMD graphics drivers installed?
Could you also confirm that you can successfully run any OpenGL content on your machine?
Also, please be advised that Mali OpenGL ES 3.1 Emulator doesn't officially support non-NVIDIA drivers (see User Guide).
Cheers,
Jacek
Hi Lester,
Because you have used Mali OpenGL ES 3.1 Emulator v2.1.1 installer for Windows (.exe file) I assume the Emulator installation is correct. The reason mali-cube fails to run could be a problem with graphics drivers installed on your machine.
Could you please use the search engine of your choice for "OpenGL benchmarks for Windows", download and run any of them to make sure OpenGL applications can be run on your machine?
If that fails could you please make sure that you are using the latest graphics drivers? You should be installing graphics drivers provided by the graphics card vendor only, in your case it is AMD.
Please let us know the results.
Hope that helps,
Downloaded the one of the benchmarks and got this error.
The benchmark required to unclick 'Official SPECwpc Run'.
I am not sure if I should try another benchmark.
I think the problem is as you mentioned before with the drivers.
I registered my product serial on the ASUS website
and asked them about the latest drivers.
The link of the updated drivers is broken.
I'm assuming either they are not aware of this or still working on them.
As a reply they should respond within 48 hours or so.
Thanks a million,
Les
The benchmark reports Display Driver Version as N/A, so I would recommend installing the latest AMD graphics drivers first.
Please use the search engine of your choice for "AMD Catalyst Driver", select AMD Support & Drivers on AMD website, select appropriate graphics card and operating system, download, install and re-run the benchmark to see if the Display Driver Version is correctly reported.
If so, then try to run mali-cube.exe and let us know the results.
Finally resolved the problem with the emulator a week ago.
I had to replace the motherboard.
I had an ASUS, now it's an MSI A78M-E35 V2.
When I click on the emulator, I can see the 3D cube spinning.
What a relief!
For some odd reason, the ASUS motherboard would not
update drivers for this built pc.
Thanks Kubacki.
