Hello there, it has been 2 months since the last topic and 3 years since the first question about this missing feature yet it's nowhere to been seen on modern phones with mali gpu's (like my exynos s9) Now don't get me wrong, although I'm quite techy and know quite a bit about it I'm definnitly not a developer. But I know many others who have issues with this missing feature (especially from the dolphon Dev team) For example the s9 should theoraticly be able to run the emulator dolphin at a decent framerate but yet fails to do so due to this missing feature in the GPU drivers. So in short my question is: Has there been any progress on implenting EXT_buffer_storage or making sure that samsung and other big smartphone manufacturers have the updated drivers available so that they are able to update their devices soon?
Greetings Thomas.
We have implemented EXT_buffer_storage a while ago, but it probably hasn't hit any devices yet. We do not control when OEMs update their drivers, so please contact them for that.
ah thanks for you answer and for implenting it! Small question let's say samsung would update their phone to a big new android version (android P for example) would they also have to update their GPU drivers? So would they be forced to newer drivers or could they just keep using the old ones from android oreo?
