Hello,

I would like to know if the state of general purpose registers (especially X0-X16) is preserved when an exception is taken to higher EL or returned to a lower EL?

Hi Jerome Haxhiaj , This is correct: "t he state stored in the general-purpose registers must be preserved by software"; see Handling exceptions . Best regards, Vincent.
