I want to buy above said board. But is based on Altera. I am not familiar with Altera. I am familiar with xilinx. Is there a similar board with Xilinx?
For the recently announced FPGA DesignStart, we created example projects for Cortex-M1 and Cortex-M3 based on Digilent Arty S7/A7 boards.
But if you prefer a higher performance / larger FPGA board, we do have MPS3 FPGA board which is big enough for prototyping of some of the Cortex-A processors.
However, the MPS3 is more expensive than MPS2 is the FPGA is much larger.
Hi Joseph, I orderd Arty S7 board from TEquipment.NET. They are going to ship by Nov 28th which is almost a month. This is what i ordered.
I will wait.
Will this board do?
In the mean time i want to get some ideas. Do you have any suggestions?
According to the document, the example system seems to be based on Digilent Arty A7-35T
The board looks the same but the FPGA used is different size. So I guess you need to change the FPGA in the project file and regenerate the FPGA image. Also you might need to change the pin out configurations.
I need to check to see if they have S7-50 project in the deliverable.
Thank you Joseph. I just received the board. Unfortunately they there was not even power cable. Only board. i need to figure out power cable usb cable etc. Not even board files. i need to figure out all that.
Hi Joseph, I was able to bring-up Arty S7 and play with few example designs. Any update on S7-50 Project in deliverable? Thank you
Sorry for the delay.
I have looked into the Cortex-M1 Xilinx package and see the S7-50 project
It is in AT472-BU-98000-r0p0-00rel0\hardware\m1_for_arty_s7\m1_for_arty_s7
In m1_for_arty_s7.xpr, you can find it is specified for arty-s7-50

By the way, this page has some videos which might help you to start
Thank you Joseph. I do see it. I will experiment with it. Thank you
Hi Joseph, Do you know from where i can download QSPI memory models? I am stuck there. Tq
Section 2.5 "Downloading QSPI memory models" of the Cortex®-M1 DesignStart FPGA User Guide describes how to download the files. However, you can download the files from the links provided below:
Thank you Mahamood. That section did say download. But i couldn't find download location. Thank you.
Ok Friend. Help me with svdp.vmf I fixed the other two issues. Tq for your help.
Friend. I sincerely apologize. This file is in Micron/sim dir. Thank you for your help.
