How to connect the bike, cars odometer with my android phone and with some server.

This could be used to get instant check on vehicle speeds.

Which could be used by traffic police for lodging fines to the driver for over-speed driving offence.

  • Hello,

I can think about many ways of doing this.

You can use some devices and apps like Automatic

Also, some insurances may put a black box in your car to check speed but also braking and all to make you pay based on what THEY think is good driving.

Finally, with an Android phone, you could make an app using the GPS to send the speed to things like a spreadsheet. There even might be a recipe for that on IFTTT.

  • We have designed products in the past where we tapped into the CAN bus through the OBD-II connector under the dashboard.

  • There are a number of OBDII connectors that go with apps like fun2drive, torque pro etc. These apps will help you store data locally on your android phone. Maybe you can build an app to upload the real time data to a server! I do not know of any app that uploads realtime OBDII data.
