Hi, when I try to open MDK- ARM uVision 5.29. A Dialog Box pops up that says >>> TOOLS.INI - SECTION '[C51]': missing 'PATH' entry ! <<<
The software does not open at all. Only Pack Installer opens.
Can someone help me resolve this?
Thanks
Most likely either the MDK installation is corrupt or you are trying to open a C51 project in MDK.MDK and C51 are 2 different toolchains and are targeting different target devices.MDK supports Cortex-M based devices and C51 supports 8051 based devices. So, you need to be careful with the target device and choice of toolchains.
I click on the shortcut on the desktop that is automatically created after installation. Also, I don't change anything during the Installation Wizard. The device that I use is an STM32F401RE, for which I install the required files in Pack Installer.
Do you have a section in the Tools.ini file (Keil installation folder) which states something like "[C51]" ?
If yes, then I would suggest removing this section -> save the file and restart uVision. In case it does not help, open a support case by following the instructions in below link and attach the Tools.ini file:http://www2.keil.com/support/silver?P=&V=&S=
Ok, I got it working, I downgraded the uVision version, set up my device on it, and then reinstalled uVision 5.29 and it works now! Thanks !
Will do, thanks!
