Hi,
does anyone know why this happens? I can install the general RSL10 CMSIS pack but the packs related to development kits won't install. I get the error shown in the topic header. The pack in question is
ONSEMICONDUCTOR.BDK.1.8.0.PACK
which can be downloaded from
https://www.onsemi.com/support/evaluation-board/rsl10-solarsens-gevk
I even tried to change the extension to zip (it really is a zip) and extract the contents to the directory where other packs reside. That way I got an error "unsupported file format" for the pdsc file. Looking inside, it's a completely normal xml file, just like the one in the general CMSIS pack directory. Only the first line differs, UTF-8 definition is missing but adding that doesn't help either.
Is there a way of figuring out how this could be solved?
My Pack Installer version is 1.3.91.0, as generated with uVision version 5.27.1.0
Thanks!
Hi Chris,
I asked this from OnSemi tech support but their reply was pretty useless. I thought someone in this community could have been using the RSL10 family and faced this problem (or even better, found a solution).
PackChk showed quite a big list of warnings but I'm not sure if they are caused by running it in an incorrect directory. I'll try to figure it out, thanks a lot for this clue!
Best Regards,
Harri
I'm returning to this because PackChk didn't bring up anything I could get hold of. Could someone please try importing that pack to see if it's something with my setup only. I can't see anything wrong with the xml syntax but still the Pack Installer says it's in wrong format.
Or is there another KEIL group I should ask because this looks like a KEIL problem?
BR,
I have now downloaded that OnSemi-Pack (ONSEMICONDUCTOR.BDK.1.8.0.PACK)
The installation results in the error message that the PDSC file can't be read, see:
As suggested by Christopher Seidl, please get in contact with OnSemi and report that problem as confirmed by Keil. Note, as OnSemi is the creator they are responsible in solving such an issue.
thanks for trying it out! There is a problem with OnSemi though... their tech support isn't very helpful. After my first long wait, they replied with an advice to read the Getting Started manual. I tried to clarify this more and haven't heard of them ever since. That's why I contacted this forum because this one is alive.
Anyway, I agree it must be corrected by OnSemi and I'll continue trying to get them do something about it. It was valuable information that this occurs no matter who tries it and where, thanks again for your help!
