Hi,
I'm using Floating license for my keil and able to compile the code successfully but when I run in debug mode I'm getting "Error: *** License Mapping Failed! *** Debugger aborted !" error. Can anyone help me on this.
Thanks in advance.
Domneck
So is this error coming form Keil uVision, or from the J-Link:
forum.segger.com/.../
Hi Andrew
Even this is posted by me.
Segger says there is no such error message in their database.
Regards, Domneck
and they also gave you a way to check ...
If you do have a valid Keil licence, then you should contact Keil direct for support with Keil licensing issues ...
I've exactly the same issue, but not with an ULINKpro. I have this issue only on some days.. Did You get an answer from Keil Support, how to fix it? best regards, Jonas
I'm from Keil Support. To be honest - I haven't see this error message for now.
Can you please confirm:
1. The product (MDK , PK51, ...) and its version in use
2. The target in use
3. That you're registered user of a Keil product
4. And if you use a:
- Keil Node Locked -
- Keil Floating-
- or a Flex Floating license

Domneck S (the OP) was not using a ULINKpro - see his cross-post on the Segger forum, linked in the 1st reply.
Yes:
1. MDK Professional 5.28
2. STM32F437VI
3. Yes
4. Flex Floating License
Sometime I need to retry up to 5 or 10 times, then the debug-session starts.
Oh, there was a typo in the first reply. I'm using an ULINKpro.!
Keil Support will investigate on this issue.
However, we do require a Support Ticket to be created:
http://www2.keil.com/support/silver
With your summary please do also confirm that you are registered user, thanks
I also have the same problem and would like to know the fix. My setup is, MDK 5.28, NXP QN9020, Flex floating License with JLink Ultra+ debugger. I can compile and download the image onto the board. But starting Debug session [Ctrl+F5] ends up in the error.
Hey,
I'm having the same problem. Did you find a solution for that?
Please open a support ticket, so Keil Support can better understand your setup, and help you work around any setup issues.
Same problem; some people on my team are seeing this and some are not. We have several floating licenses.
I have entered a ticket, but I thought the purpose of this forum was to share information and possibly take some of the load off the Keil support staff. This problem appears to be fairly common, but there are no solutions posted.
Thanks.
