The issue: I need to try twice to flash my Freescale chip to be
able to reprogram it once it has been secured.

The issue occurs after I flash the chip with the flash security
register value: 0x01xxxx01 (flash secure, no backdoor key).

Hi,

Some time ago we had a similar problem with a same type of "Cannot
access memory" error, just different memory location.
This happened when we try to reprogram a Freescale Kinetis devices
K2x, K6x with protection already set to ON.
In our cases the "under reset" with "HW reset" solve the problem of
mass erasing without error message (just a warning that mass erase is
needed).

Before that solution was found (try-and-error) we find an another
one:
Under Flash Download : Download Function chose the Erase Sectors
instead Erase Full Chip.
