Hello i have managed to run uvision keil 420 through Wine on Ubuntu 14.04 the problem is that the editor does not work fine actually it is horrible; whenever you scroll down the code whit-spaces are filled with characters from the previous lines of code , besides these spaces and tabs are coloured with different colour that the editor's background colour.
is it possible to fix this problem ?
Here's one link of many thousands: www.linux.com/.../805748-embedded-development-with-arm-mbed-on-linux
My Google search term was "embedded arm tutorial Linux". Try it, it's not difficult.
Ahem. I shared the most important information. It's not my concern that you can't use a search engine effectively. Even my 10 year old daughter can manage that task. I wonder why you can't.
And you really dug yourself a huge hole by taking note of such a rubbish piece of advice in using Wine.
Go fish.
listen , if you don't like to share information so don't replay to others threads , understood !!
sure thing i googled before messing with wine and keil, found hints about sourcsry , QEMU and GNU Arm but as a beginner i was advised to to stick to keil+wine , Got it ??!
So is there a way for a beginner to learn ARM Assembly if you don't use Windows?
Duh! Ever heard of the new fangled thing called the Internet?
There are masses of sites detailing it!
1. Wine is not a supported platform by Keil products 2. Linux is not a supported platform by Keil products 3. V4.20 is a former µVision version with an editor that is confirmed to be working well at typical requirements of a Keil product.
Note - the latest requirements we have summarized at: www2.keil.com/.../
