HI..i want some help.. because i got the mini project to do RAM testing with diagnosing the fault .. i have to make one software program for thins and implement it on one small training kit.. but i don't know from where i have to start... please. help me... this is totally new for e..
Yes, but in this case we have to use Keil-supported platforms as reference. I haven't seen Keil support for generating binaries for Xeon processors.
I guess it depends on what one means by, "small"?
This is what Intel currently recommends for "embedded" applications:
www.intel.com/.../embedded-processors-which-intel-processor-fits-your-project.html
In that context, an x86 with "only" (sic) a couple of MB of RAM would probably be considered "small"...
I would _really_ like to know how much experience you have running that program on small, embedded, platforms. Do you also install a full operating system and maybe a processor emulator on the platform?
and what does the '86' mean there...?
Testing for faulty memory is relatively easy to do thanks to a diagnostic tool called Memtest86. This handy program runs a series of tests on your RAM, spitting out any errors when/if it finds them.

... The ships build by the copyat sank :)
Nice idea. Very tempting ;)
Next time someone demands some code
I recall a pre-WW story that a company knew that their design of a ship would be stolen and made an error that only a few knew to ignore. The ships build by the copyat sank :)
Erik
...however
Next time someone demands some code, you'll no doubt be giving them some perfectly crafted and fully commented text.
I think not.
It is quite revealing, isn't it? On this forum you sometimes have the clueless trolls that you should have fun with (I think). And they you have the heavier troll type like this lead poisoned type above. Man, what a drag...
More obscenities. Oh dear. If you really believe giving some poor chap a link to an article is going to draw more of the troll kind down here, suit yourself...however, the only one ranting so far in this thread is coming from your end!
If you don't like it, turn away.
Why compound your stupidity with further nonsense.
It is not I who needs to have the detail of RAM tests hidden. I am well aware of such things. It is the people who are increasingly coming here wanting simple answers that will see it. You know. The ones that you yourself have commented on.
@P B Lead,
Why are you so rude? If you don't like it, turn away. Are you being held at gun point or what?
Well, it's good have a balance with those who say this place is too "hostile" and never "helps" the poor students...
Seconded!

This is a good one:
Well done d*#k head. Now we'll keep getting the dumb questions from lazy students who think people here might supply a direct link to an A* answer.
