i am new in the field of controllers.....
i have some doubts to ask....
The crystal which we are using ..its made up by which
Why we use capacitor with crystal in microcontroller circuit?
Ever tried to google for any crystal FAQ?
Or would that give too much information?
It isn't too uncommon that the term quartz crystals is used. That
should give you an idea. Of course, there could be other
piezoelectric materials used.
Why have burden capacitors? Not sure it can be answered unless you
already know a bit about resonance circuits. Now would be a good idea
to look at them nice crystal faqs available.
Also new in the field of electronics?
Here's some info about the function of the crystal for an
As already noted, there's plenty to be found with google:
for example, here's Maxim's APPLICATION NOTE 2154,
"Microcontroller Clock—Crystal, Resonator, RC Oscillator, or
Abstract: Crystals, ceramic resonators, RC (resistor,
capacitor) oscillators, and silicon oscillators are four types of
clock sources for use with a microcontroller (µC). The optimal
clock source for an application depends on many factors including
cost, accuracy, and environmental parameters. This application note
discusses the determining factors for selecting a microcontroller
clock. Oscillator types are compared.
You should be able to take it from there...
thank you sir.......
but as we know...property of piezoelectric
when we give electrical voltage to it.....it will give mechanical
vibrations as an output......so how we are giving this mechanical
output as a clock to our microcontroller ????/
The mechanical vibrations affect the electrical properties.
Google for the details if you're really interested...
Thnk u sir. . . I will sure search in goole . . . .2moro mornin. .
. . B'coz . . . .i really want to know. . . . .how the uC is getting
clock as electric signal. . . . . .from two terminals of crystal. . .
. . . .though the crystal produces vibration. . . .
Quartz crystal oscillators were developed for high-stability
frequency references during the 1920s and '30s - there is
nothing new or ground-breaking here!
Any decent electronics textbook should cover it, and there's
plenty of stuff online.
BTW: the dot key on your keyboard seems to be faulty...
Thnk u, . . . . . .nd no sir dot key is not faulty on my keyboard.
. . . . .bt this is my habbit . . . .i used to do this when typin
msgs on my cell. . . .
Sure sir. . . I will try to find it in google . . . . .
bt sir can u plz suggest me any book or any link . . .about it. . . .
So that i can clearly understand. . . . .wts there inside in the
crystal . . . . .nd how it is giving clock pulses to our controller.
. . . . . .
i used to do this when typin msgs on my cell. . . .
You in jail brother?
No . . . .man. . . i m nt in jail . . . . . . .dis is jus my
habbit. . . . . . . . .
is that you do not waste ink typing all the characters in a
Just type "quartz crystal oscillator" into google - how hard can
