Hi, This is Harish Chincholi, going to work on CAN protocols, I am
looking for 3 CAN Module Microcontroller, I have found TMS470R1B768
Microcontroller with 3 CAN Module. I want to know if there is
Evaluation kit available which supports this Microntroller

RE: Query regarding 3-CAN Module!!!!

It is not clear from the request whether it's significant or not -
hence the question.

As ever, knowing the reason for the request would
enable people to give informed suggestions: it may or may not be
sensible to use 3 interfaces in this particular application - but,
without any details of the application, it is impossible to tell.

However, it is not unreasonable to speculate that, if there really
were a good reason for it, the OP might have taken care to mention
that...

the amount of busses is not point of request.

I'm working on systems with a lot more CAN busses at one time in a
CAN bus network.

May be there're more than one vehicle connected ;)

Yes, vehicles often uses two. But three?

And in this case, the description doesn't sound like three busses
because of latency or different baudrate but more because the OP
wants several P2P connections.

for example the olimex Evalboard elmicro.com/.../lpc-e22xx.pdf
has 4 CAN connectors mounted.

whats about NXPs MCUs for example the LPC2294 ?

provides a maximum of 4 CAN interfaces.

may be there are three seperate CAN busses ;)

This definitely sounds like a mistake, unless you are worried
about the latencies with more than one transmitter on the cable.

CAN is a bus protocol, so you do not need a large number of
individual point-to-point connections unless you need very high
tranfer rates.

But in such case: if your microcontroller is not capable of
running the bus at a higher baudrate, then it will probably not be
fast enough to run multiple point-to-point links at max speed
either.

still, are you sure you cannot solve this with 2 CAN networks? I
don't see immediately why not, to be honest.
Under certain conditions, even a single CAN controller will do.

I need to send messages to 2 PC's continously.. that is having one
dedicated transmitter(PC1) which is continously sending messages to
remaning 2 PC's.. To all the PC's I like to have evaluation boards
interfaced so as to recieve CAN message.

But why do you need three CANs?
