Hello All, I m using MCBSTR9 keil board and i want to test my CAN port, though in loopback mode, i've checked it. But i want to communicate between PC and CAN. I dont have any other CAN controller to set up a small network. Will it be possible to communicate between PC and CAN without any other CAN controller. Is their any way to simulate CAN....What are the basic things that i need to form a CAN network. I am thankful to one who can help me out...
You may loopback inside the CAN controller for the chip.
Or you can loopback on the CAN cable.
Or you can get a USB-connected CAN controller for your PC.
Does it mean that without any hardware i cannot communicate between PC and CAN port....?? Can an interface be implemented so that CAN data can be transmitted to PC using RS232 port.....?? Without loopback mode and without any extra hardware, is it possible to test CAN communication..... I know its almost impossible but may be there is some way that i m not aware of .....
HI, Can you suggest me a simplest and somewhat cheaper hardware so that i can have communication between PC and CAN of my board.... I am thankful for ur early response...
you can try using a USB to CAN converter - it plugs into your PC using a USB connector, and the electronics behind it places CAN messages on the CAN bus.
