hi friends!
There are lot of "Universal Programmers" claiming a huge supported
device list.
I have used Micromaster WinLV48(Discontinued) and PINMaster48.
WinLV48 was the best but company discontinued the upgrade
support.
I need to know which one

RE: witch universel programmer is best???????????

But with the DataMan S4 out of production since several
years
if not you will be stuck if you use a modern chip

But with the DataMan S4 out of production since several years, it
is a bit hard to recommend it to a new customer. You can only find
used units, and the S4 has a tendancy to kill its power supply if the
accumulators are left for too long without charging.

>Price doesn't matter

This engineering Data I/O model is "the best"

www.data-io.com/.../default.asp

But I doubt if you'll need its capabilities, as most people
don't. Its great for the company that does a lot of highly custom and
varied work, where you need to be capable of programming almost all
devices out there.

The new device algorithms are usually developed as these 'new'
devices are being made... good working relationship with IC vendors;
I think---so it seems.

So, if price really doesn't matter, go for one.

you do not mention the most important qualifier for choosing a

do they supply software upgrades after the product is discuntinued

I have LabTools48 and Dataman S4. Too bad that they stopped
selling the S4 a couple of years ago since the replacement product
was "almost" ready. Alas, they recently informed that they killed the
replacement.

we are very happy with the BPmicro programmers we have.

BPmicro support their programmers (expanding the device list) for
ages and gives you a two year warning when a model is to be cut off
from support.

Erik

PS stay away from Zeltek, we bought a programmer directly from
Zeltek (to save running to production in the other end of the
building for those that programmed a chip a month) and two months
later, when asking about support for a new chip was informed that the
device we bought was no longer supported.
