Why does UV3 name its project and backup files with the .UV2
extension?

This is a problem for me since I run both UV2 and UV3
projects.

Is there a fix for this or is one currently in the works?

Thanks,
Brian

I guess you mix versions (i.e. C51 Version 7.5 with MDK-ARM
Version 3)

I could never open a Uv2 file with Uv3. It always stated the
ToolChain path was missing.

So I just opened the Uv2 Tools.ini and cut and pasted the [C51]
path info into the Uv3 Tools.ini. This seems to have worked fine and
I can now use Uv3 to open my old Uv2 projects.

Thanks.

Why, UV2 files work on both UV3 and UV2.

RE: Uv3 names files with Uv2 extension

Ok, let me just continue this conversation with myself...

Apparantly, it is still a problem. I can manually change
extensions and such, but every time I close UV3...it creates a new
project file and gives it a Uv2 extension.

This is a problem for me.

Thanks,
Forget it...My problem.
My file types and extensions got all messed up by having both Uv2 and
Uv3 installed. I fixed it by manually changing file types and
extensions in windows.
