Can't get printer port dongle working with TOSHIBA USB 2.0 PORT REPLICATOR II.
I've read (and tried) most of the info related to this subject on the keil site.
Has anyone used this replicator for this purpose ?

Best regards,
Toshiba specs for the PX1098E-1PRP port replicator state :

1 x parallel - IEEE 1284 (EPP/ECP) - 25-pens D-Sub (DB-25)

I made use of the mentioned SetupSysDriver.exe and the
sentinel medic+ tool for checking the dongle.
(tool can't find the dongle)

The problem is that after installing the drivers (XP automatic)
for this replicator the situation looks different for my
installation compared to the given example in the toshiba manual.

In the manual:
device manager-Ports-USB to Parallel (LPTx)
device manager-Universal Serial Bus controllers - USB Printing Support.

In my installation:
device manager-Ports- no LPT port mentioned!?
device manager-Universal Serial Bus controllers - USB Printing Support.

For all the other devices the drivers seem to be installed properly.
(PS/2 mouse,PS/2 keyboard,serial port,USB Hub)

When installing a printer the windows list gives a list of
printer ports in which USB001 (virtual printer port for USB) can be selected.

I've no idea why XPpro doesn't mention the LPTx port as it does in the manual.

Any suggestions ?

p.s. I've asked support if it's possible to change my LPT dongle for a USB type.

RE: using port relicator for dongle

Did you read: http://www.keil.com/support/docs/2884.htm

In fact this information was provided by Rainbow Technologies. To my knowledge more than 99% of all available replicators do NOT comply to this IEEE standard.

RE: using port relicator for dongle

I doubt very much that it'll work.

I think you need a real parallel port.

You need to contact Keil about either a USB dongle, or a dongle-free version...
