You don&amp;#39;t mention many details, but here&amp;#39;s a couple of example projects that use a PIC to detect signals of particular frequencies, one infrared and the other DTMF.&lt;br /&gt;

I&amp;#39;m not sure what you mean by &amp;quot;at a certain range&amp;quot;.  If you mention a range of frequencies, then yes, that should be a straightforward extension to the software.  If you mean range from transmitter to receiver, then it&amp;#39;s going to depend on your receiver.  Perhaps you can get a received power level from it that is useful to indicate range?
