I have been using the MCB2140 for several weeks, no problem there. I can open the HID project in uVision3, compile it, download it, run it, step thru it.

Then I remove the USB cable , wait 10 seconds (yes, I read

RE: LPC2148 HID example program not working?

Hello,
I have triple checked all the jumpers.
I have downloaded the latest compiler and recieved a new Liscense ID code.
The CA compiler is V2.32a.

I downloaded the zip file again and tried sending the precompiled object file.

Same result???

Ok I just tried it one more time with the JTAG(ULINK) removed and uVision closed.
IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for everyones help and patience. Now I guess I have to get some real work done, no excuses.
Thanks for the suggestion, I can't believe I've never been to this site before. It looks like really good stuff. I will be reading frantically today.
This does not address your question directly but it will help you complete your project. As Dan Henry has pointed out is the forum, http://www.usbee.com has an excellent tool for debugging serial/usb comm of this type. A scope is great but in your project you will need to record a data stream over several seconds.
I have this tool at one of my customers. It has saved many hours of head scratching.
Good tools don't cost, they save. No. I do not sale any tools.

- MCB2140 Jumpers (VR, DP-, DP+: On)
- use the prebuilded object file
- download the example to Flash
- remove USB cable & JTAG Interface
- reconnect the USB (after 10s)

Maybe you should also download the latest version 2.40 from http://www.keil.com (just to make sure that you have up-to-date software).

There has been some trouble reported with the mass storage example, but not the HID example.

My main PC as I stated in my initial post is running Windows XP. I have also verified the same behavior on a different PC running 2000.

This is my first attempt at using USB, so I was really hoping to get up to speed using the MCB2140 and this HID example.

I'm really not sure where to start here. I guess I need to start probing the lines and looking at what actual data is being sent back and forth?

Thanks,
