Hello folks! Does anybody know a manufactorer of or hear about a project for an optical or otherwise contactless joystick? I mean a joystick with no more mechanical components inside than the hand lever itself.
Before posting, you might ask yourself "Does my question have anything to do with Keil products?" Using Google or going to a good electronics catalogue will produce the desired answer. I used this product on a wheelchair controller project many years ago and it worked very well: http://rshttp://www.com/cgi-bin/bv/browse/Module.jsp?BV_SessionID=@@@@1072650098.1061552203@@@@&BV_EngineID=cccdadcjeidheijcfngcfkmdgkldfhk.0&cacheID=ukie&3239005022=3239005022&stockNo=0162984&prmstocknum=0162984&prodoid=299652
OK! OK! we heard you the first time. Dunno 'bout optical, but I think "force sensing" joysticks - as the name suggests - work by sensing force rather than movement? Have a look at Daco Scientific: http://www.daco.co.uk/index.htm Or, if you wanted to roll your own, maybe look at the Gill Instruments page at Ixthus Instrumentation: http://www.chamois.net/ixthus/gill.htm (they suggest joysticks as an application) You can say I sent you! ;-)
