set heap and stack memories

Hello
I'm working on a software project based on an AT91SAM9XE256 ARM9 (similar to 9260)
I want to set all variables and stack in the internal RAM, and 1Mb of heap for malloc() in an external SDRAM at 0x20000000.
I'm using the Keil development suite.
After many attempts and searches, I could'nt manage to get the correct mapping.
Either all the memory is mapped to SDRAM, or I get link errors (heap mapped to iRAM, to big to fit).
How can I set up my target options to get that ?
Or do I have to write my own scatter file ? and what do I have to add to it to define stack and heap properly, keeping all variables in internal RAM ?
Thank you for any help or useful link.

Hi Denis,
Yes, you need to create your scatter file.
Please see the following links:

Thank you, Joseph, I had found this information, but the procedure is very unclear and IMO not well documented.
Anyway I finally managed to do it, after many attempts and errors.
It works with the simulation, and I hope it will on the real board.

Agree that the document could be improved.
I had feedback this to our support team.
Thanks
