Pseudo-Random Cache Replacement

Hi,
I've noticed that many ARM CPUs use a "pseudo-random" cache replacement policy. Is there any documentation on how exactly this is implemented? In particular, I would be interested in information on what kind of pseudo-random number generator is used, and when this generator gets updated (e.g., on every clock cycle, or on a cache miss).
Regards,
raspberry

Thanks for your answer.
What exactly are you trying to do?
I have been doing experiments with microbenchmarks and I am looking for an explanation for some of the results.

No public information that I am aware of, but given that the caches are usually 2 or 4 way set-way the PRNG only has to generate a very small number and so is probably very simple.
What exactly are you trying to do?
