Say hello to Arm at E-18 in Denmark

Debbie Dekker

September 4, 2018

If you are heading to E-18, Denmark's largest electronic fair, be sure to visit the Arm booth (#4239, Hall C) where you can:

  • See the MultiCub3r-X in action – made of LEGO® MINDSTORMS® and powered by Arm, how fast can it solve a 4x4x4 Rubik's Cube® at E-18? Earlier in the year at Embedded World it managed (unofficially) to solve the 4x4x4 cube in under 21 seconds but maybe a new record will be set.
  • Meet Arm Approved Design Partners – catch up with Elsys, EnSilica, HDL Design House, Sondrel and S3 Semiconductors who will be helping us on the booth.
  • Grab a copy of the popular E-book Custom Chips for Dummies - this short, easy-to-read guide uses real-world examples, top tips, and watch-outs to explain how to get a custom chip design to silicon, step-by-step.

The Route to Power Efficient, Optimized, Custom Silicon

Rubik 2018

Also, at E-18 you can join John Reilly, Arm’s Senior Partner Manager for Northern Europe, for his presentation on “The Route to Power Efficient, Optimized, Custom Silicon”.

Product suppliers are now enhancing their products and providing differentiation by using custom silicon. With the availability of low-cost silicon manufacturing, expert design service companies, and easy access to low-cost chip technology, a customized chip is now more possible than ever. The presentation will outline how you can reap the cost, size, power, reliability advantages of having a chip designed specifically for your needs. The talk will explore the process of getting a custom chip – how to select the technology/IP to put in it, the manufacturing (foundry) process, the help that is available and the various programs (such as Arm DesignStart) that simplify this process.

John is presenting on Tuesday September 11 at 13.40 and Wednesday September 12 at 14.20, with both talks taking place in Hall C.

More about E-18

The fair will run from 11-13 September in Odense, Denmark. At the last show in 2016 it attracted 3600 visitors. This year, running in parallel to E-18 there will be a new independent robot fair, so by combining the two shows it should attract greater visitor numbers. You can register by clicking on the link below.

We hope to see you there!
