Program MPS2+ directly with Quartus programmer

Is it possible to directly program the FPGA in the MPS2+ board with the Altera Quartus Programmer?

As far as I understand is the MPS2+ 10 Pin FJTAG port not compatible to the Alter USB blaster.

Is there another way to do this?

  • Hello Urian.

It is possible to load an image into the FPGA using a USB blaster connected to the FJTAG port, but this is not what the on-board microcontroller is expecting.  If you really must do this, you can let the board boot up and load a preprogrammed image from its configuration flash memory, then program your new image over the top via the USB blaster.

    Julian.
