In this blog, we will share the recent improvements that have been made to the on-demand training platform after listening to feedback received from users.
The Arm on-demand training platform was launched in October 2017. It was introduced to digitize our current training offering, improve our training experience and to enable more people to access Arm training anywhere, and anytime. The platform was launched with only 7 modules; we now have 34 modules and over 600 videos available. With a continuous stream of new content being developed, we work towards adding a new module to the platform every 1-2 months. Over time our pricing model has also evolved, so that we now offer access to all modules for 12-months for only $99.
Feedback has been that the quality of the content is good, clear, and concise, but there have been some areas of the platform that have needed improvements. One being the overall navigation of the platform given the overwhelming amount of information it now hosts. In reaction to this feedback over the last few months, we have been making some changes to address these concerns:
The old and new layouts
The learning plans have been categorized to help users navigate the different topics that we have available. For example, there is now a learning plan for Cortex-A which includes an introduction to Armv7-A, introduction to Armv8-A and introduction to DyanmIQ. We have also changed the images and icons to help with the navigation of the platform and to make the content clearer to access.
Updated learning plans
Further enhancements that have been made to the platform:
Feedback has also been received to offer topics that go into greater depth. There is a good set of introductory modules that covers most of our IP, so the focus now is to start developing some more in-depth modules to cover a wider range of topics. If you have any feedback on topics you would like to see on the online training platform then, please do get in touch with us with firstname.lastname@example.org.
We have come a long way over the last few years, and we continue to make improvements. Two things that we are aware of are the access speeds in China and playlists for content to allow videos to auto play. These issues have been raised with the platform provider and we continue to push this.
We are always looking to improve our training offering, so please do go and check out the Arm on-demand training platform and share your feedback with us. We offer a 1-month free trial, so you can get a feel for the platform and a taster of the content that we have available.
