To those who are unfamiliar with the semiconductor supply chain, the process of producing silicon can seem complex and daunting. With many innovative ideas emerging, particularly relating of the Internet of Things, Sondrel is looking to highlight the key issues that developers need to address, and to help them to maxmise the potential of their applications. SoC development is an opportunity for companies to do this.

When creating a custom SoC an experienced design partner can help smooth the route to commercial silicon. As an ARM Approved design partner, Sondrel has the experience and assurances to do exactly this. The combination of the availability of ARM’s DesignStart programme (offering free design access to the Cortex-M0) and Sondrel’s chip develop experience means that OEMs, start-ups or experienced designers alike can all benefit from custom SoCs.

This short video looks at some of the challenges of SoC development, and how as a semiconductor supply chain we can remove some of the barriers to SoC development.
