This case study may be of interest to those of you who are considering the merits of designing a custom SoC for your IoT application. With a custom design you are in control, making power and area savings that are important to cost and usability as you scale, factoring in security, and within a reliable design to produce a quality outcome. DesignStart is a way that you can make a custom build more affordable.

This chip design described will be used over a Zigbee Network. Zigbee is used by many of the consumer and industrial applications that are collectively called the Internet of Things. These applications requires short-range low-rate wireless data transfer, particularly those that require long battery life and secure networking. The technology that was selected for this design was 55nm. To read the full case study, click on the link provided.
